A 24h design challenge

Contributor: Carine Lallemand @carilall

Idea: Organise a 24 hour collaborative design challenge where students should work as a team to design an innovative service or product related to a specific topic.  You can do this in any discipline area. The topic should be broad enough to allow for the generation of creative solutions. Use UX design techniques to support students during this process. Make them pitch their ideas several times during the challenge to gather insights from other participants’ perspectives.

Practitioners comments: “The design challenge triggers both creativity and group work. The design brief is not necessarily provided as text. Try using a sound, a picture, a movie… and invite students to generate design briefs for other students.”
